			History of VBS Farms VBS Farms is owned and operated by Val B. and Vicky B. Shields and A.C. "Tick" and Colleen V. Shields. The present cattle program started with the introduction of a Chi bull on Angus based cows in 1980. The bull was purchased from Oram Brown of JRS Farms, other Chi infuence cattle were obtained from Mr. Brown later in the 80's. Since then we have been developing Chiangus cattle that can perform well on the Eden Shale hills of Northern KY. Our cattle do a great job performing on our grass based production system. Our cattle have also performed well in the show ring. Over the past 16 years we have produced 9 Grand or Reserve Grand Champions at the Kentucky State Fair and many other ribbons are on our walls to prove our breeding program is on the right track.
